Hallelujah, greetings in the name of the Lord. My name is Austin Park, and I am the lead pastor of CUMC of Jackson Heights Church. Jackson Heights is a community that symbolizes diversity. I believe that our neighborhood, with its blend of many different races and cultures, creates a beautiful, harmonious, and incredibly vibrant energy. In this place, we gather with the calling to learn about, teach, testify about, and worship the one and only Jesus. In the midst of diversity, we are united through the cross of Christ, and our church has the precious mission of proclaiming His cross and resurrection through various languages, cultures, and perspectives. I believe this is the work the Lord has entrusted to us, and we must remain faithful to this calling.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea, into a family of Korean Methodists, and lived there until I was 22 years old. After majoring in Philosophy of Religion at the Methodist Theological Seminary, I immigrated to New York, where I worked at a Christian broadcasting station, handling camera work, broadcasting, and editing. During that time, I also pursued and obtained a Master of Divinity degree from New York Theological Seminary. I later earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from the same institution and have been serving as an Elder in the New York Annual Conference for over 25 years. Currently, I am conducting research in the Ph.D. program for “Jewish, Muslim, and Christian Relations” at Hartford International University (formerly Hartford Seminary).
I find my greatest joy in testifying to the grace of God and the love of Jesus to the community I serve. I am also deeply grateful to God for my wife, Sylvia Sungeun Park (Doctor of Pharmacy), and my beloved daughter, Agnes Seoyul Park, who support me in this mission. If you are seeking answers to serious questions about truth, the meaning of life, who you are, what you should do, and what you can achieve, I invite you to visit our church. My loving congregation and I promise to do our very best to welcome you and assist you in your journey.
